USED Gibson 1972 EB-0-W Bass Walnut w/OHSC - CONSIGNMENT

Vintage 4 String Electric Bass guitar featuring 1 single humbucking pickup, Mahogany body and maple neck construction.

In 1972 Gibson changed the design of the EB-O bass - moving the "neck" humbucker pickup slightly closer to a "middle" pickup position, changing the headstock to a solid instead of slotted headstock and increasing the depth of the body a little.

They also moved to a Maple neck, instead of the Mahogany neck from the past years.
At the time, they claimed that this all improved the performance/playability and overall tone of the bass.
And, there are peoeple that prefer this to the previous/original design.

The "new" tune-o-matic bridge design along with new tuners also were in place.

The EB-O is a legendary bass, nothing else sounds lke it - others have tried but without blatantly copying it, you're not going to get that tone!

Featuring a Mahogany body, set in laminated maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and short scale length of 30 1/2".

The Actual Model is EB-O as it was originally a Cherry Red finish, that has faded gorgeously to the current Walnut/Cherry mix.

This Consignment Bass is in Very Good+ condition with play wear - it is 52 years old (!) and has been played.
The finish has faded to a beautiful almost walnut even though this was originally the cherry finish.
Currently, the bass has flat wounds on it.
The bridge has been replaced, but the original is included. Comes with OHSC.
The Original Tuners have been replaced too.
