Product Description

Compact Limiter Pedal for Guitar, Bass or Keyboards with controls for Level, Tone, Release and Threshold in Excellent condition.

Another great compact, and vintage, pedal from BOSS Japan circa 1987.

The often overlooked LM-2 Limiter Pedal. Always the Bridesmaid and never the Bride, to the more popular, and known, CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer Pedal from BOSS.

Like the Compressor, the Limiter supresses the peak of the input signal while still retaining a certain amount of Dynamic Range.
The LM-2 uses a "high quality" VCA to help keep the noise down and retain the tone of the pedal.
You can set the Threshold of the signal to be limited, and the Release time.
Often, when Compressing/Limiting a signal, you can loose some top end - hence the Tone control that can help bring back that tone - if needed.

The Level knob adjusts the level of the effect sound.
Rotating the Threshold knob Clockwise raises the Threshold Level and lowers the limiting effect while Counter Clockwise does the opposite.
Rotating the Release Time Clockwise lengthens the release while Counter Clockwise shortens it.

Even though you can get a very Slammed Limited sound from this pedal, it's also more Natural Sounding than the more well known CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer.
With the right tweaking of the knobs, you may not realized it's Limiting anything, but turn it off and you'll feel like you're missing something.
It's often used as an "on all the time pedal " and frequently used towards the end of the pedal chain.

This Used pedal is in Very Good+ condition with minimal cosmetic wear.
The Tone knob has a small ding in it - it's just in the Knob and is cosmetic, it functions as it should.
It can be powered by a 9 Volt Battery or Appropriate Power Supply
NOTE This older MIJ BOSS pedal does NOT use the standard PSA120 power Supply and requires either a BOSS ACA power supply or equivalent.
