Used 65 Amps Blue Line Soho Head

This is the original Blue Line Soho 20 Watt Head – Gently used, overall in excellent working condition, in very good cosmetic condition with some slight wearing in the tolex along the side of the cabinet.  One of the favorite of the 65 Amps Models, this is the Original Blue Line series features a master volume - not the Master Voltage circuit. A fantastic sounding amplifier rarely seen used!

The 20 watt all tube handwired Original Blue Line Soho was 65 Amps second design to their original flagship amp, the London. Where the London consisted of two distinct channels, the Soho is a single channel amplifier with a ‘Bump’ feature. Featuring 2 El84 power tubes, 2 12AX7 and an EF86 pre-amp tube this quickly became one of the most popular amplifiers in their line with the ability to coax both British (Vox/Hiwatt) and Fender (think cranked vintage brown face deluxe) tones.

The Bump circuit is a mid boost of sorts, featuring it’s own tone control and 6 position level control. It can either subtly or radically affect the response and midrange content—and thereby the entire tone and gain structure—of the amplifier. And while it isn’t anything like traditional channel switching (as it only inserts another stage within the amp’s lone channel), 65 contends it’s more than enough to provide a viable lead voice at the tap of a toe.

This Original Blue Line Series Soho  might just be a more appealing choice for the guitarist seeking some versatility in a smaller rig. The more you tweak the SoHo’s controls, the more it reveals previously untapped voices.
