This is a set that went through the floor of the custom shop to get gold covers. These gold covered SH-18S Whole Lotta Humbucker from Seymour Duncan are a pair of late 70's PAF-style bridge and neck pickups. The bridge pickup is designed to deliver a fat tone with lots of mid-range harmonics, while the neck pickup offers a bold, punchy tone with plenty of low end warmth. Before Seymour built his own business, he was working for Fender Soundhouse in London and befriended many of the "Yardbirds" guitarists and went on to rewind many of their pickups. The Whole Lotta Humbucker was one of these custom rewind recipes and thanks to Seymour's meticulous record keeping, the pickup lives on today. The set utilizes rough-cast alnico 5 magnets, plain enamel wire, and a unique winding pattern to deliver a larger-than-life sound that's warm and balanced. Each of the vintage-hot pickups features a nickel-silver bottom plate, a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are wax potted for squeal-free operation. The Whole Lotta Humbucker set is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
