USED Ampeg SVT 300 Watt Tube Bass Amp Head '78 - CONSIGNMENT
Vintage, All Tube 300 Watt Bass amp that's considered to be the be all and end all of tube bass amplifiers, in good condition.
It may not be pretty to look at but it gets the job done. And by job that means producing a big, warm, slightly driven classic electric bass guitar tones!
Oh, and Volume... there's lots of volume available to fill a room, peel the paint off the walls of the room, clear a neighborhood block or play the "ernomo dome"
Having said that, there's a reason that the Ampeg SVT is the number one requested and supplied Bass Amplifier by Concert Backline companies around the world.
All tube, 2 channels - Bright or Normal, with 2 inputs per channel.
300 Watts of Glorious tube power and tone.
Channel One is the most versatile channel featuring a Variable Midrange control, along with Bass, treble and Ultra High and Ultra Low switches to expand the Bass and Treble controls and Mid Range switch for the cut/boot mids.
Channel Two features a Bass and Treble controls with expander switches for each.
Not pretty - yes, it's from 1978 (ish) and looks like it's been used/played over the past 40+ years.
Missing the front Ampeg grill, exposing the controls for tube bias, hum adjustment.
The tolex has seen quite a bit of action... as seen in the picture, there are many areas where the tolex is peeling off at seem points and just worn in areas.
The Mains switch and Standby switch have been, um... switched. Normally the Mains power switch is on the Front of the Amplifier and the Standby on the back.
This has been reversed and labelled as such - now with the Mains in the back and the Standby in the front.
The Midrange pot is missing it's Knob.
The external AC plug has been taken out of the chassis - normally in the back, but as seen by the photo, it's now an empty spot where it used to live.
And, speaking of those wonderful tubes, these Original SVT Heads take 14 Tubes (!)
And, they are heavy - best as a 2 person lift.
It weighs about 85 pounds.
With that in mind, this is an Instore Purchase/Pickup only.
NOTE: We may be able to ship/send/deliver this to you but that's something we would have to arrange before purchase. Delivery (to the Oakville/Burlington/Hamilton/Niagara region) is possible but any shipping would have to be determined before purchase.
